In 2022 we massively upgraded Aster DCA backtester. It offers the most accurate backtests of what 3Commas DCA bots can do.
And since 3Commas DCA bots can do a lot, ADB got big. Really big! and heavy to run.
In late 2022 we did a lot of research with Aster to make improvements to the speed of the backtests.
But today we are taking a big decision. We will split ADB in two 😳
The existing version of ADB will become ADB 2022. From tomorrow all Observers and higher tiers will have access to ADB 2022.
ADB 2023 plugin-based
We will introduce a new ADB called: ADB 2023 plugin-based.
This new version will consist of a main script plus plugins.
Each plugin will consist of a separated TA script that you’ll be able to connect with the master ADB script as a source input.
This will allow ADB to backtest almost instantly.
Deep backtests will also benefit from a massive boost in speed.
In fact, deep backtesting will become faster than normal backtesting in ADB 2022.
This new version of ADB will be offered as a BETA which means that we are still developing and might encounter issues when using it. If you do let us know so we can quickly release all required patches and can promote it to the final version ASAP.
This is all possible thanks to TradingView recently introducing changes to Pine Script v5 that allow more than a single source as input to scripts.
We are very exited as this will allow us to find better setups much faster ….and time is money!
What’s next?
Next steps are to get all VIPs to access ADB 2023 plugin-based and complete all the plugins. If you are a VIP or higher you should soon see in your TV invite-only scripts 3 new scripts: the new ADB + the RSI plugin + the TV ratings plugin (Friday 9th June).
Aster will be adding everything that is missing in the upcoming weeks and taking your feedback from Discord.
Once it’s completed we have big plans next as well.
We want this new version of ADB to also be able to send alerts to bots and therefore to be able to use it for live trading just like Absolutno.
