With the new beta version of ADB we’re finally able to backtest lightning-fast on the charts! In the first iteration we’ve ripped everything out to the bare bones and rewritten the core logic so we can ensure the best performance paired with accuracy.
ADB is now fully extendable and uses plugins for all the signals. This means it is only processing what you give it and don’t spend valuable resources and time on stuff you haven’t activated. Please have a look at the video how to use it.
You’ll find the backtester and the plugins in your Invite-only scripts on TradingView.
First out for our plugins is two of the most popular indicators. TradingView Technical Ratings (TVTR) and Relative Strength Index (RSI). Don’t forget you can already use Victoria, MC and all other signals already available to members that plots a signal.
In the next two weeks the plan is to release the rest of the plugins:
- Orchestrator
- Ultimate Oscillator
- Bollinger Bands %B
- QFL
- TA Presets (BB, MFI, CCI, MACD, PSAR, SMA, HA)
The first version of all indicators will have the basic settings and plotting a signal. We expect to add the indicators standard chart plotting as an overlay. Custom plot value and other nifty features. Let me know in the comments if you have any cool ideas for the plugins. At first we’ll focus on feature parity to 3commas before expanding functionality.
What’s missing in the Backtester?
The biggest missing feature is the on-chart results table. It shows valuable information such as profits, average profitability, required capital, duration, BO/SO information and more. It was resource intensive and we’re going to re-build the statistics table while focusing on keeping the speed.
Other missing features:
- The built in deal start and take profit conditions (DSC & TPC) – now plugins
- External inputs – they’re replaced with the plugins
- The orchestration/filtering – will be reintroduced as a plugin
- Warnings & errors
- VIP Statistics
Please note that the Aster DCA Backtester Alpha-version still is accessible to all members. It includes all functionality built in with the stats table on-chart.
