Live stream and news!

It’s been a busy week: live stream, AMA, tons of upgrades to our indicators and a new grid bot backtester that I believe it’s going to take our grid bot testing skills to the next level.

Weekly AMA ๐ŸŽค

We had the first AMA (ask me anything) this week using Discord stage. I found it really cool cause we get to speak to everybody as a team, including all moderators, content creators and contributors of our community. Next one is scheduled for next Wednesday. You can check the date/time and don’t forget to RSVP here to get notified.

We intent to keep the AMA going every week and open publicly. If you are in the community it’s a great opportunity to join us for a chat in real time, and if you haven’t made the move to join us yet you can use it to learn more details about all the perks, tools, indicators, signals and bots we use.

Second March Live stream ๐Ÿ‘

We had a second live stream and we discussed market TA and overlook, bots running, updates, news, your questions, etc.

  • Overall stock market & indices status: DXY, SP500 and Nasdaq.
  • BTC weekly, daily, 4h and 1h status for EMA Ribbon, MACD, RSI: which ones are bullish and levels we need to move into full bullish mode.
  • Short squeeze and long/shorts ratio update: the shorts are being punished!
  • TTP Hive: daily, 4h and 1h status: are there any worrying signals coming up?
  • BTC dominance and potential for ALT coin season discussion
  • CPR monthly levels, are we still under water?
  • BTC log growth model: what would be the levels we would reach if we remained bearish by the end of the year. Surprisingly good still.
  • Divergences status
  • Summary of upgrades to MA crosses
  • Summary of upgrades to TTPTSL RSI EMA – manual trades now supported: use drag and drop in the chart to enter up to 3 cherry picked trades and see the TTPTSL do its magic with them.
  • Wrap up of bot update (follow up from previous bot update)
  • How are the short bots doing? what you should do now if you are running short bots. Caution recommended and also consider taking these actions.

New TTP Grid Backtester strategy in the works ๐Ÿ˜

There’s a lot of speculation on what works and what doesn’t in the world of grid bots.

Some people argue that in order to profit the most from grid bots you must match as close as possible the range where the price is ranging. Other people only use them after a correction while the price is in consolidation.

I’ve been for a while researching what is out there for backtesting properly grids. And the answers is there are some alternatives like the backtester built in Bitsgap, or some implementations in python. After a bit of extra investigation I found some videos of people claiming that the bits gap backtester is not very accurate. The python backtrader backtester code didn’t look correct to me.

But I really think it’s a must to have a backtester so I had to decide between patching the python one or starting one from scratch.

And that’s when I remember that in TradingView there’s an author xxattaxx-DisDev that has a few different implementations of grid indicators. They can do pretty cool things like even automatically adjust the grid levels to follow the price, something like the infinity grid but actually in any direction. I love them honestly 100%. But there’s a problem: it’s not a strategy, it’s an indicator.

Yes, you can connect it to a strategy and input all the buys and sells into the strategy. But this approach compromises too much in accuracy for my taste. I think a pine script strategy is the way to go for the most simple, accurate and convenient way to get a good estimate of the results of running a grid bot during a period of time. There’s so much to consider to backtest grids: price can go up and down and enter many levels, intra candle orders, rules like don’t active certain levels when starting, etc.

So finally I decided to start building a new grid backtester from scratch.

The POC is looking really good, I can’t wait to have all the features I have in mind completed. I asked Aster for help so we can speed up and also get a fresh pair of eyes confirming we are doing the right calculations, using the correct orders, etc. We are inviting anyone to help us gather feedback by following these instructions. Once you do that we’ll invite you to the private BETA testing where you will gain access and will be able to not only report any issues you find but also provide feedback in UI/UX, stats, features, etc.

Join the beta testing of the grid backtester now!

In a few days, once we confirm we have a decent confidence the strategy works as expected we’ll grant access to all our users, all tiers.

What do we have so far? you can visit the indicator in TradingView to find all the detail but let me give you a short summary here:

  • pick number of levels
  • pick amount to buy per level
  • plots average position size, realised and unrealised profits to visualise at all times how are you doing with the grid
  • plots disabled, buy and sell levels

Updates on TTPTSL and MA crosses ๐Ÿค“

If you missed the videos updates of these indicators you can watch them now!

Updates to Victoria indicator (VIP members) ๐Ÿค“๐Ÿค“

Victoria updated to v1.5

Victoria is an incredible TA indicator that uses normalised values of multiple indicators to find not only better entry values but also when to exit. We use this indicator for Serpil and also forms part of the list of indicators we use for the orchestrator.

In this version Aster has put extra emphasis on an area that is vital to prevent false entries which is the use of technicals to filter them out.

We were already using this in previous versions, and even in IFTRSI but now he’s take this idea to a whole new level. We can now visualise the levels of technicals which is crucial to fine tune and decide how to use them better.

You can checkout the new features added and the new chart layout added below.

NEW chart layout: “Technicals”

This view will visually show you all the technical helpers and filters you have and their settings; Technical Ratings Trend, Technical Ratings Filter & Volatility.

  • They are color coded based on the settings so you’ll easily see if it’s within or outside the specified range or a bullish/bearish trend based on your threshold.
  • When a filter is activated the background will fill with green or red to show which periods are allowing or blocking trades. Making it quicker to visually review the chart and the effect of your settings.

Technical Ratings Trend

  • Added MA and Oscillator as a source option, earlier it was only using Total
  • Simplified to use a threshold instead of the weak bound, now if itโ€™s above or below the threshold you either have Bullish Trend or Bearish Trend
  • Added Minimum and Maximum value to make the filter more granular
  • Visible in the Techicals-view

Technical Ratings Filter

  • Added MA and Oscillator as a source option, earlier it was only using Total
  • Visible in the Techicals-view

Volatility Filter

  • Visible in the Techicals-view

Layout

  • Made the layout more compact
  • Separated the settings for Signals and Trend Signals into different groups to make it more clear

filter on, background shows when signals are allowed

MA, Oscillators or Total
